Naoise Roo's New Video For 'Whore'
- Written by Marky Edison
Naoise Roo has released a video for the song ‘Whore’ which is taken from her debut album Lilith, out now on Little L. It’s a highlight of the album and has been a live favourite for the Dublin singer for some time now.
Roo cites Nick Cave and PJ Harvey as influences and has often been compared to the latter. On ‘Whore’ she tackles themes that Harvey was well known for in the ‘90s.
The sexual craving in the lyrics and the crisis of faith in the video are well-worn topics but Roo’s take on them is unique; rarely has desire translated so viscerally to song.
The video is directed by Bob Gallagher and features Aron Hegarty as the conflicted priest. The track was produced by Elder Roche (Myles Manley) and Liam Mulvaney (Girl Band).
