Telephone Explosions Get Significant

Dolores Fogarty and Adrian Mee are experimental dream-pop duo Telephone Explosions. Formed in Maynooth in 2016 they released their first single ‘Pocket’ in January.
‘Significant’ is the follow-up; a harmonic meditation on our place in the universe. Released on Friday, it is available on all usual music distribution outlets. Inspired by number stations, hidden transmissions and unbroken codes, Telephone Explosions plan to release their debut album in early 2018.
Fogarty’s vocals are ethereal and shoegazey. Telephone Explosions cite Slowdive and Mazzy Star as inspirations and there’s a noticeable Cocteau Twins influence also. The electronic backing from Adrian Mee is ambient and experimental. It switches from Lynchian tweeness to tribal beats and neo-folk discord.
