Darren Flynn Ain’t Gonna Worry About It

Darren Flynn is set to release his third solo single ‘I Ain’t Gonna Worry About It’ on March 20. This follows on from the success of his previous singles ‘Mountain Whiskey’ and ‘Big Blue Moon’. He has been playing various forms of Americana around Ireland and Europe for over 25 years; first with rockers, Renko, and with the country blues of Mongrel State before going solo.

The new single showcases Flynn’s unique ability to express powerful human sentiment in a stripped back and down-to-earth sound. It’s combination of country blues fingerpicking with a vocal almost conversational in style, delivers a simple, clear message about learning to worry less about life. Producer Anthony Gibney (Kila, Josh Ritter, Mundy) remarked that it was almost like the singer was just sitting round a kitchen table shooting the breeze.

Flynn expands upon this: “A couple of years back I got really sick and had to give up the relentless lifestyle I’d had for a good while. This was pretty much the first song I started writing when I was convalescing at home, sat in my kitchen, just picking my guitar. Whenever I start to get stressed out about things nowadays, I try to remember how I felt when I was writing it.”

Flynn is a regular performer on the local Dublin scene and across Europe with appearances including The Electric Picnic, and Kilkenny Roots Festival. He will be performing extensively throughout 2026, and his next show will be with his band in The Cat and Cage in Drumcondra, Dublin on April 22 following the release of “I Ain’t Gonna Worry About It”. A series of single releases and an EP are scheduled throughout the year.

Darren Flynn will play Little Whelan’s, Dublin on Saturday, March 21 with Stoat.
