Strumbellas Are Running Scared

The Strumbellas have released their brand new song, 'Running Scared (Desert Song)', which is the second track to be taken from the band’s fourth album Rattlesnake due out March 29 on Glassnote Records. It follows the current single 'Salvation' which has been playlisted at BBC Radio 2 and is Top 20 in the US at Alternative radio, where it continues to climb.

'Running Scared' is an energetic breezy dust up with catchy anthemic hooks and was a favourite of the band to record. “It's actually the song that inspired the artwork for the album. We love playing it because it makes us feel like we’re in the middle of the desert”, says vocalist Simon Ward. “This is one of the songs that came together the fastest and the studio was fun because we got to experiment with lots of weird instruments”.

The 2016 third album, Hope, featured the hit single ‘Spirits’ and in 2017 they won the iHeartRadio Music award for 'Best New Alternative Rock Artist of the Year' and collected the JUNO Award for 'Single of the Year' ahead of Drake, The Weeknd and Shawn Mendes. But with the upcoming Rattlesnake, they take a stylistic turn from their melancholy, introspective releases, to create an uplifting album with songs that focus more on optimism.
