Gardiner Music Returns With Katie Laffan & No Hot Ashes

Gardiner Music returns to action with Katie Laffan and No Hot Ashes on Saturday February 4. After being resident in Whelan’s Upstairs through 2016, the event is moving to The Workman’s Club in 2017.

For Stockport’s No Hot Ashes, it is their first gig in Ireland The post-pop- disco funk quartet have settled on a heavy bass infused Red Hot Chili Peppers meets James Brown with a rap / hip hop overlay. The combination is as infectious as it is fresh. They are band you have to see live as their performances ooze raw funk rhythms and a passion for entertaining crowds.

Twenty year old Dubliner Katie Laffan made her live debut as a drummer at the age of thirteen. Laffan has used a bedroom studio, her grandad’s old keyboard, a laptop, instruments and €99 mic to create a sound drawn on a range of musical styles from funk and modern pop to reggae and ska, post-punk and even a bit of hip-hop. It was an approach that resulted in 2015’s acclaimed debut EP Dead As Disco.

Tickets are €10 and can be found here https://billetto.ie/…/340f720d-405a-457f-8249-9baf…/overview
