Listen To New Emptyset Track, ‘Border’

Following their end of 2016 set at Berghain, the innovative electronic duo of James Ginzburg and Paul Purgas, bring in the new year with the release of new track, ‘Border’. The track is taken from their brand new album Borders, which is out via Thrill Jockey on Friday 27 January.

Emptyset have been commissioned to participate in a number of projects by a variety of organizations over the years including Architecture Foundation’s installation at Ambika P3 space near Baker Street in London, Tate Britain’s Performing Architecture programme, a collaboration with conceptual artist Cevdet Erek for Spike Island, an installation at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and more.

The band explain: “Borders represents a new way of working bringing together custom instruments, live performance and the merging of acoustic sounds with analogue electronics. The material signifies the start of a new area of exploration for the project that will be realised through further international live events, bringing the record back into a performance settings and bringing a very human aspect into the sonic lexicon of Emptyset."

Emptyset have announced a performance at Sonic Acts, Amsterdam in February and will announce further dates for 2017.
