With anticipation building for the release of their third album Encyclopedia (due Monday September 22), The Drums unveil new single ‘I Can’t Pretend'. You can check it out now via Soundcloud.

Encyclopedia is the The Drums first album as the duo of Jonny Pierce and Jacob Graham. Speaking about the new album, Johnny Pierce said “Encyclopedia is full of magic and surprise while maintaining a serious, more weighty tone throughout,” says Pierce. “We were feeling very angry, confused, and alone when we made this album; and we wanted to be very honest this time around, even if being honest meant making some people uncomfortable. We’ve left the beach for higher ground, always searching for hope.” 

The band will be performing live throughout November, arriving in the UK for their first gig at the Scala in London on Tuesday November 18.

The Blackout have revealed a set of UK headline tour dates for this November, with the support of Chiodos and When We Were Wolves. The band will be taking on Manchester, Glasgow, Leeds, Cardiff and many more cities before finishing of at London’s Scala on Thursday November 13.

The tour will follows on from the band’s upcoming self-released EP Wolves, (due Monday October 27) which was funded in just 3 hours of a Kickstarter campaign.

“It took a lot of determination and sacrifice to pick ourselves up and carry on with The Blackout,” says singer Gavin Butler.

“The main reason this happened was our vision for ‘Wolves’. Writing these songs not only gave us a way to vent our frustrations but gave us a fresh fervor for making music and the much needed awakening to the fact that we all love being a band. So we thought, let’s just take back control.”
