A Thousand Horses Announce ‘Live Cut To Vinyl’ Event

Southern rockers A Thousand Horses are returning to the UK for a handful of shows this November/December, including a very special ‘Live Cut To Vinyl’ event at the legendary Metropolis studios on December 3rd.

The nine-piece band will be recording six tracks live straight onto vinyl, which will include a mixture from their critically acclaimed album Southernality as well as brand new music. Fans will be in for a chance to come and watch their performance at this remarkable event. Keep an eye on the band’s social media pages for more details.

Their UK headline tour sees them play London’s 02 Islington Academy on November 30th followed by a show in Manchester, which due to overwhelming demand will now be at Manchester Club Academy.

Joining them will be Essex four-piece Purson as main support on both dates. The band will also be making an appearance at this year’s sold-out rock ‘n’ roll weekender Planet Rockstock.

Mohawk Radio EP Launch At Deaf Institute

Stockport’s Mohawk Radio launch their new EP Shoot From the Hip at The Deaf Institute, Manchester, on Friday February 10. Mia Page (vocals), Dave Quinn (drums), Sean Frankland (bass), and James Gregory (guitar) were voted ‘Stockport’s Finest’ in 2013.

Described as "Cher meets Metallica", the band have previously released two EPs which are unfashionably heavy, unabashedly ambitious, and unashamedly catchy. Mohawk Radio have played in major gigs here and abroad, with shows at the Etihad Stadium, Hyde Park and SXSW.

Singer Mia Page came to the UK from Bermuda, “Honestly, I came here because of The Stone Roses and Oasis,” she reflects. “I used to listen to Definitely Maybe on the beach. England has always been the forerunner in the music I'm interested in.”

Their eclectic influences include Pantera, Radiohead, Alanis Morissette, Nothing But Thieves, Lana Del Rey and Arctic Monkeys. “As a band, we've really found our sound,” says Mia. “I think this EP is the first real showcase of it.”

Shoot From The Hip was produced by Clint Murphy (Manic Street Preachers, Thunder, 50 Cent).

Tracklist-

1 – ‘On Your Knees’

2 – ‘Get What You Deserve’

3 – ‘Eyes Wide Shut’

4 – ‘Even’

5 – ‘Ready To Love’

Support for the launch comes from The Jess Kemp Band.
