My Best Unbeaten Brother Serves Up Pessimistic Pizza

  • Published in News

Pessimistic Pizza is the debut mini-album from My Best Unbeaten Brother. This is a new project from the returning Ben and Adam Parker of Nosferatu D2. The past work of the Parker brothers has been lauded by Pitchfork, Drowned in Sound, Los Campesinos!, The Line of Best Fit and DIY Mag, while their unconventional legacy was the subject of radio stories for BBC 6 Music and Public Radio International.

Pessimistic Pizza is the urgent and emotional debut mini-album from My Best Unbeaten Brother, a new South London-based trio featuring the critically lauded Ben and Adam Parker (Nosferatu D2 / Tempertwig / Superman Revenge Squad) and bassist Ben Fry.

Described as “the lost pioneers of the indie-emo scene,” the Parker brothers’ unconventional journey has been the subject of retrospective radio stories by Public Radio International and BBC 6 Music. Their first new material since 2013 reunites them with Audio Antihero (Frog / Cloud / Magana), their longtime label, and sees them cast aside their past insecurities in search of hope and meaning whilst preserving the off-kilter musical chemistry that earned the siblings fans in Los Campesinos!, Art Brut, and Johnny Foreigner.

Preceded by the singles, ‘Time On our Hands, Spider-Man', ‘Extraordinary Times’ (May 24) and ‘Blues Fatigue’ (June 7), Pessimistic Pizza will be released on June 28.
