Barry Adamson has released a brand new track, ‘The Hummingbird’, taken from Memento Mori (Anthology 1978-2018), a 40th anniversary release charting the artist’s writing and recording career, out on 26 October 2018.
Barry Adamson explains, “‘The Hummingbird’ is a Redemption song that started in Rome with the opening line. Written mostly on my phone, and recorded on my laptop, I wrongly had the tempo set at double speed, so the bass notes played twice as fast but that gave it a cool character, so I went with it. I thought to try and have no chorus and make it mainly instrumental and as majestic as I could at the end.”
October will see very special live shows presenting the full Barry Adamson experience. Manchester's RNCM Theatre and London's Union Chapel will host Adamson and band performing tracks from across the anthology “complete with strings and brass, flutes and whistles”.
