Evawolf New Single ‘I Could Be Wrong’ Out Today

Evawolf have announced the release of their new single ‘I Could Be Wrong’, which will be released today. Melancholic yet uplifting, ‘I Could Be Wrong’ channels soulful, soothing tones with anthemic songwriting that would be at home in both intimate settings and stadiums alike.

Citing influences from the likes of Arcade Fire, Fleet Foxes and Smashing Pumpkins the band seamlessly merge pop, rock and folk into a catchy and heart-rending new blend of alt-rock.

Formed in East London in 2015, Evawolf were originally a two-piece consisting of childhood friends Joey (guitar, vocals) and James (drums). The pair then enlisted Natalie, who initially joined the band as guest violinist but soon became an integral part of the band’s melodic sound, and bassist Danny to bring depth and fullness to Evawolf’s overall intrinsic sound.

Their debut single ‘When The Truth Is Out’ came out last year and has had over 310k listens on Spotify to date. The band will be playing a show at The Monarch, Camden on January 20th. Their debut EP is due for release in 2017.

New Portals Reveal ‘Winterskin’ Lyric Video, Bound For SXSW

New Portals have released a lyric video for their new single ‘Winterskin’. The song finds the pair evoking seasonal chills, with big rolling synths and dark bass rumbles. Their icy key chimes reverberate against a montage of ‘70s footage featuring intrepid mountaineers battling the elements.

New Portals have been announced to play SXSW 2017 and the new single rounds off a year that has seen a string of singles from New Portals, including ‘Cage’, ‘Stay Here Tonight’, ‘Groove Boy’ and ‘Skyline’. The tracks have seen the band become one of the most promising and highly acclaimed new acts to come from Northern Ireland today.

The Belfast duo have teamed up with fellow Northern Ireland production extraordinaire FVRY for the remix of ‘WinterSkin’, released through Hope & Fury Records. Leading with lulling glittering keys, FVRY incorporates a driving beat and spun out synths that roll among choppy breaks to deliver a spaced out remix.

Throughout 2016, New Portals have had big support from Radio 1, with Phil Taggart and Huw Stephens particularly big champions of the band. They’ve also featured in the soundtrack for the recently released feature film She Has A Name, for which the band provided three songs including ‘Skyline’, ‘Cage’ and ‘Forget You, Forget Me’.
